The app asks for microphone access. Are you recording me?
Not by default. Yishui computes volume and timing on device to build a sound-event timeline; full-night audio is never saved. Only when you (as a purchaser) opt in per night to "short sound clips" are on-device clips of up to 10 seconds kept: retained 7 days, excluded from backups, deletable anytime.
Are sound clues snoring detection?
No. Sound clues are volume-activity events: they only mean "there was sound activity during this window" and cannot confirm snoring, sleep apnea or any condition. You can review them in Sound Details and mark false positives.
Can I use Yishui without an Apple Watch?
Absolutely. Phone records, sound clues, reports and wind-down practices never require a watch. With a watch, Yishui shows "watch-estimated sleep" (after you ask to read) separately from the phone's in-bed record.
What's the difference between "in-bed record" and "watch-estimated sleep"?
The in-bed record is how long Yishui actually monitored — not sleep. Watch-estimated sleep comes from Apple Health sleep samples. When shown together, both are labeled by source and never added together.
How do I delete my data?
Settings → Data Management → "Delete all local night records". This removes phone records, sound clips, advice feedback and monitoring checkpoints; it never touches Apple Health originals, your purchase, or system settings. CSVs you exported live where you saved them — delete those yourself.
What does the unlock include? What about a new phone?
"Yishui Complete Unlock" is a one-time purchase: full report comparisons, 30/90-day trends and export, sleep stages, optional short clips with playback, all 8 warm themes, every text practice. On a new device, sign in with the same Apple ID and tap "Restore Purchases".
Why won't 30/90-day trends open?
Long-term trends and export are part of the unlock; free users keep the last 7 nights. If you already purchased, go to Settings → Yishui Complete Unlock → "Restore Purchases".
The recording was interrupted — can I still see a report?
Yes. After calls, system termination or storage failures, Yishui keeps a partial record up to the last sample and clearly marks its gaps in the report — never presented as a full night.
What is App Lock? Does it collect my face?
App Lock uses system Face ID / Touch ID / device passcode (LocalAuthentication). Yishui never sees your biometrics or password — only the system's pass/fail result.
